New York
Tamra Brown began her odyssey into the horse world at the University of Minnesota, pursuing a degree in Equine Science. Through this program and its required internship, Tamra found herself at world-renowned dressage trainer Anne Gribbons' Knoll Farm in New York. Tamra's hard work and talent quickly led to her promotion to head groom at Knoll Farm, and Gribbons' show groom. Under the watchful eye of her mentor, Tamra learned to ride, train, and compete horses at all levels as well as instruct others. Tamra also got a taste of the international equine industry when she travelled to Argentina for the 1995 PanAm games as Gribbons' groom for her mount and silver medal team partner, Metallic. |
Tamra's Accolades
Over the years, Tamra has been given the ride on many talented horses, the majority of whom she trained to the upper levels herself, and several to Grand Prix. In 2007, she was awarded her USDF Silver Medal and is currently working towards her Gold, having already achieved qualifying scores through Intermediare II. Also, in 2007, she became the Intermediare Champion for Region 8. In 2009, Tamra was a featured clinician at the Midwest Horse Fair in Wisconsin, one of the largest three-day horse fairs in the country.
Tamra Brown has also successfully and consistently shown in CDI competition. Her primary partner at the time was the Dutch Warmblood breeding stallion Leoliet (Zioliet x Dorien). With him, she competed in CDIs in both Prix St. Georges and Intermediare I at Dressage at Devon, Zada Enterprises' Zada Cup, and the German Equestrian Alliance Cup, a PanAm games qualifier, where she earned a whopping score of 69.333% - and only her third outing with the gorgeous stallion.
